Huge community engagement for North Ayrshire wind farm proposal

The Scottish Government’s stretching targets to meet net zero by 2045 and produce 50% of total energy demand from renewable sources by 2030 are accelerating huge growth in Scotland’s renewable energy sector, and at Message Matters we are pleased to support numerous clients who specialise in renewable development.

We have been working with the talented team at Galileo since June 2023, supporting their proposal for Crosbie Wind Farm – a 13-turbine onshore wind development located between Dalry, West Kilbride and Fairlie in North Ayrshire.

Having worked with Galileo on the project’s core messaging, brand, website and stakeholder outreach through the summer and autumn, we were pleased to deliver five successful community engagement events in November which drew huge interest and support from the local community.

Community engagement is a fundamental part of the project consenting process, and successful community engagement is so much more than just ticking a box. Working with the client, we are building grassroots support for the project through early and considered engagement with people from the local area and local media relations.

With over 150 people attending the engagement events over three days, and a significant number of attendees outlining their support for Crosbie Wind Farm, we are excited to continue working with Galileo as they progress the project to the next round of community consultation and submit the planning application in 2024.
