International Festival generates international media coverage
This week MM has been in St Andrews, Fife managing the press office function for our client’s Stanza, Scotland’s International Poetry festival, after months of media work promoting the festival to both domestic and international media audiences.
There’s not many of our clients we can say we send press releases out in multiple languages – including Ukrainian, German, Arabic and Dutch!
This year has been quite an incredible experience, against the backdrop of a global pandemic and now the worsening crisis in Ukraine. A Ukrainian translation event had been part of the festival programme long before war broke out, and it was humbling to meet one Ukrainian poet who made it out of the war-torn country to perform at StAnza, and for us to facilitate press opportunities for her to talk about her experience.
We were delighted to see the festival return to a live programme after moving online last year, and to host a live broadcast from BBC Radio Scotland’s Afternoon Show. The BBC crew joined us in the Byre Theatre where our clients were featured heavily on the three hour programme.
As well as this, we secured widespread media coverage throughout the press campaign across local, regional, national, UK and international media.
