Media buzz as regeneration scheme reaches milestone
It was fantastic to see Message Matters (MM) client Midsteeple Quarter hit the headlines as its town centre transformation work reached a milestone.
We work with Midsteeple Quarter on all aspects of its PR and communications as it works to breathe new life into Dumfries town centre by taking empty buildings into community ownership and bringing them back into use.
The community benefit organisation recently marked the official start of its first major phase of construction, which will see a disused site on the High Street turned into new business units and homes.
That coincided with the announcement of a £7.2m funding package, including support from the Scottish Government, South of Scotland Enterprise, Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Holywood Trust.
Community Wealth Minister Tom Arthur joined senior figures from all of those organisations on a visit to Midsteeple Quarter to see the work taking shape and meet those involved.
The visit – and launch of work – led to strong local and national media coverage, including that from BBC Scotland, ITV Border, The Scotsman, Scottish Business Insider and others.
