Message Matters Group expands with three new appointments

The Message Matters family has expanded its teams after further growth during 2022.

Chris Wands, most recently Senior Producer at BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland programme, becomes Senior Associate at Message Matters, the award-winning strategic communications agency.

Also at Message Matters Alison Moore, former Director of the Scottish Policy Foundation and current Chair of Live Borders, joins the permanent staff as the Senior Researcher.

Over at Zero Matters, Scotland’s only one-stop-shot net zero consultancy, Victoria Scruton joins as Associate, having been Energy and Sustainability Manager at Edinburgh Leisure.

Message Matters was established in 2012 by Peter Duncan and Andy Maciver, delivering media relations, political relations, integrated campaigns and training.

Zero Matters was formed in 2022. It plans, delivers and, with the help of colleagues at Message Matters, communicates net zero journeys for clients in the private, public and charitable sectors. Along with Andy and Peter, it is led by Matt Lancashire, former Zero Waste Scotland Director and SCDI Deputy CEO.

Chris Wands said:

“I’ve worked with the Message Matters team from the other side of the fence, in my role at the BBC. They’re an outstanding team and I’m looking forward to joining them, helping them to progress their cutting-edge PR offer, and furthering my own skills as I move into the intertwined world of political and government relations.”

Alison Moore said:

“I’m delighted to be joining the permanent staff at Message Matters. One of the unique qualities the agency has is their knowledge of the clients and the sectors in which the clients operate. It’s my job to make sure the team has all the information they need to do the award-winning work they do for all the organisations we serve.”

Victoria Scruton said:

“Scotland can only go net zero through action, not words. I’m so attracted to Zero Matters’ model – they are pushing their clients to take real, identifiable, impactful action to move towards net zero, and I’m incredibly excited to help push this agenda forward.”
