MM proud to support inaugral Fedcap Compass event

It was great to play a part in organising a round table meeting in Edinburgh this morning for Message Matters client Fedcap. Fedcap is a not for profit organisation that works in the worlds of health and employability. The organisation operates in Scotland, the UK and in North America. The theme for the meeting was “Why encouraging people back to work will improve the health and economic

wellbeing of Scotland – and how can we do it?”

The round table comes at a time when Scotland’s current employability scheme “Fair Start Scotland” is ending, and its replacement “No One Left Behind” gets its first referrals at the start of April.

The event was opened by Fedcap’s UK Operations Director Susan Paterson, was hosted by Daniel Johnson, Scottish Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Business and Fair Work, and involved guests from Public Health Scotland, think tanks, academia, and the third sector.

It was the first of a series of “Fedcap Compass” thought leadership events, aiming to shape public policy in a direction that helps the population’s physical health, mental health and employability prospects.
