No Time to Wait – Tackling Scotland’s mental health crisis

Director, Andy Maciver and Senior Associate, Louise Robertson were delighted to put their glad rags on and attend our client, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity’s No Time To Wait fundraising Ball at beautiful Prestonfield House.

No Time To Wait is a wellbeing and resilience programme which has been designed to help whole families who are living with a young person who is struggling with mental health. The service is being piloted in Tranent for two years with the hope it will be rolled out across the country in a bid to tackle the mental health crisis facing children and young people in Scotland.

This is an unique service which has been designed by the very families who need it the most, in response to research that shows that 59% of Scottish families have a child who has experienced a mental health concern. The service aims to prevent problems escalating to the point where professional intervention is needed.

Message Matters has been working with ECHC with political relations from the very beginning of this project. Political interest has been very encouraging and we will be ramping up the engagement in the New Year when we have solid data and stats from the first six months of the pilot.
