Chris is a former journalist and regional newspaper editor. With 20 years of experience in the media industry, he has worked in frontline news, on content planning and strategy as well as leading editorial teams working across print, online and social media on award-winning titles. He uses that experience to work with a wide range of organisations across all areas of PR and strategic communications.

Clare has over ten years experience working in Scottish and UK public affairs and communications, starting her career in the Edinburgh base of an international communications agency before spending seven years leading the political strategy and public affairs output of the National Farmers’ Union of Scotland. Clare is a former chair of CIPR Scotland, and member of Women in Public Affairs (WiPA) Scotland.

Louise has over twenty years’ experience as a journalist, PR and public affairs professional working at a UK and devolved level. Louise has spent the majority of her career in the third sector where she has a proven track record as an effective campaigner and influencer in both the press and in the political arena.

Alison has over 16 years’ experience working in politics and public policy. She has worked as a Press Officer for a Member of Parliament, spent several years running a busy constituency office, trained political parties overseas on policy and campaigns, and has most recently worked with Scottish-based think tanks on public policy development.

Kirsty is a communications professional with over twenty years’ experience in public relations, public affairs and community engagement. She has worked across a range of sectors where she has led communications for complex and often controversial projects. Kirsty has returned to Message Matters from Fred. Olsen Renewables where she was Head of Communications (UK) for four years. She brings a strategic and thoughtful approach to her work, supporting clients to engage effectively, manage reputational risk, and communicate with clarity.

Hollie has over eight years of experience working in politics, journalism and communications. She started her career in communications working across the life sciences sector before moving into politics and journalism. She uses her experience to help our clients with strategic PR, media relations, public affairs and campaign delivery.

Hannah recently graduated from the University of Aberdeen, where she earned honours in Politics and International Relations. She has experience in political writing, sustainability reporting, and media relations. During her time at Symphony Communications, she contributed to political briefs and worked on sustainability initiatives. With a strong interest in community engagement and relationship-building, Hannah's academic background and varied experiences inform her thoughtful approach to public relations and political communications.

Lucy recently graduated from the University of Glasgow, where she earned honours in Politics. During her degree she focused on topics such as political communication and the influence of social media in politics, and completed a dissertation on the influence of newspaper coverage on major political events. This academic foundation has equipped her with a wide understanding of the media and political landscape. She brings a strong interest in helping organisations and individuals communicate their stories with clarity and authenticity.

Gavin is a videographer, photographer, and editor with over eight years of experience spanning live sports, music videos, and corporate video. He combines technical expertise with a strong storytelling instinct to create shots that meet each client’s needs. Bringing together strong technical ability, thoughtful content planning, and adaptability on set, Gavin produces high-quality results across a wide range of productions and environments.

Jamie has over 5 years experience working in the political realm. He worked in an MP constituency office upon graduating university. From there he worked in Westminster as a Parliamentary Assistant before returning to Edinburgh to take up a role as Press and Communications. He is using this experience to help clients with public affairs, communications and community engagement.
